What is Biomechanics training?

Simply put, biomechanics training is the practice of teaching the human body how to move correctly. Let’s define a few important terms:

 – Biomechanics: the study of the mechanical laws relating to the movement or structure of the human body.
 – Training: the action of teaching a person a particular skill or type of behavior.
 – Biotensegrity: a state of balance throughout the human body.
 – Fascia: a thin casing of connective tissue that surrounds and holds every organ, blood vessel, bone, nerve fiber and muscle in place.

Biomechanics training is the method, but the goal is to achieve biotensegrity or balance within the human body.

As we move our body, our fascial network lays down thicker tissue to account for the stress it’s been put under. This adaptation of your fascial network can either bring you towards or keep moving you away from balance or biotensegrity.

Each movement we make has an impact on the rest of the body. This impact is four dimensional and will dictate your outcome. Your outcome and movements are already programmed within your brain. So to achieve biotensegrity or balance within your body, we must reprogram the way we think and move.

“Conscious training leads to subconscious behavior: To change your behavior, you have to actively think about your behavior”

An Everyday Analogy

Think about your brain’s processing of how to move as your body’s ‘software’. Think about your body’s bone structure alignment and organ function as your ‘hardware’. By upgrading your ‘software’ through biomechanics training your ‘hardware’ will in turn receive an upgrade or biotensegrity.

So what happens if you don’t upgrade your ‘software’? Your ‘hardware’ becomes obsolete. The good news is that it’s not too late to upgrade. Through focused biomechanics training you can help resolve your body’s imbalances and feel great.
